With my extensive experience in mountain safety, I put together everything you must know before you go in the backcountry. Enjoy more and stress less.
Yukon Backcountry is one of the best places to practice outdoor activities. From the hills around Whitehorse to the top of the highest mountain in Canada, mountains cover a big part of the territory. Mountains are a very specific environment, especially in the North. Knowledge is the first step and the most important to improve your safety in the backcountry. Learn about what can put you in trouble in the backcountry.
For everyone, beginners or experts who travels in the Yukon backcountry year round, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, climbing, mountaineering. This 3 hours presentation is specially meant for you to recognize the hazards better to be able to reduce the risks. We will view in details most hazards you can encounter, the main cause of incidents/accidents with a lot of case studies and experience sharing.
